1. Get back into the routine

First, we want you to start having more school- like hours. Even just a few days before school begins, bedtime should go back from 11:00p.m.to 10:00p.m., for example, or whatever is 5lappropriate. 6Additionally, you should be waking up around the time you’d have to wake up for school and performing the normal routine: getting dressed, having breakfast, and so forth.
We also suggest that you limit“screen time"-whether it’s a computer, the TV, or a phone--and make sure you are off at least an hour before bed. You can also shop for school supplies earlier rather than later. When you’re trying to make the 7transition as easy as possible, and the activity 8primes you for eventual return to the classroom.
5) appropriate 【a’praupriat】 adj.合适的
6) additionally 【a’dJenali】 adv.另外
7) transition 【traen’zlJn】 n.过渡
8) prime 【praim】 v.
9) tricky 【’trki】 adj.
2. Manage your time 管理好时间
The 9tricky part of coming back to school is that the first week or two are usually pretty exciting but slow weeks in terms of study, so it’s easy to get caught up in a false sense of, “Oh, this is easy, and I can take on this, this, and that extracurricular." Then April comes along and you can think, "I have a lot of work in front of me and where amI going to find the time?" You may get overwhelmed and then they get further and further behind in your work, which makes you depressed and prone to lolprocrastinate. So it might be a good idea to wait on new activities for one or two weeks and leave enough time for adjustment.
9) tricky 【triki】 adj.
10) procrastinate 【preu’kraestnet】v.
3. Dontignore problems
To flog this point one more time: Many schools are fantastic, with talented and caring teachers and administrators. But you can’t expect school to have insight into your problems. That’s why we’d like you to be more proactive. If you are struggling with problems, it’s better to say something sooner rather than later.
