安宁河(Anning He)是雅砻江下游最长的支流,属于长江上游水系。又名长河、白沙河;取名河水“安宁”之意。发源于冕宁县小相岭,南流至大桥始称安宁河。以大桥、德昌为界,可划分为上、中、下游三段。至小得石附近注入雅砻江,全长531公里,支流59条,流域面积1.1万平方公里。河口流量234立方米/秒,最大与最小流量差达百倍,水力资源136万千瓦。安宁河谷地带属宽阔地堑谷,谷底海拔1000～1900米。阶地发育,宽4～10公里,坡度平缓。由于谷地宽展,气候温暖,灌溉便利,土壤肥沃,耕地连片,农业发达,是川西南主要的产粮区。安宁河中游地区地势平坦,气候温暖湿润,谷地宽广,是川西地区第二大盆地。安宁河流域适宜的自然条件为早期人类的生存、
