廖平,字季平,四川省井研县人,近代著名的经学大师。他一生治经学而六变,孜孜探求经学中的“微言大义”,认为自己的学术是孔经中固有的“微言大义”的翻译,因而自号“六译先生”。张之洞是廖平的恩师,廖平与张之洞的关系十分密切,梁启超曾因此在《清代学术概论》中,说廖平经学第三变是由张之洞贿逼而起,人多信以为真,造成中国近代文化史的一段公案。本文准备从廖平和张之洞一生的交往,来剖析这一公案。 Liao Ping, the word Ji Ping, Jing Yan County in Sichuan Province, modern famous master of science.
