In most machining situations, poly-crystalline Diamond (PCD) tools replace natural diamond tools, and natural diamonds are primarily suitable for ultra-precision machining operations. PCD tool can also replace the traditional carbide tool, the tool life is longer, can reduce machine downtime. PCD tool blanks are made by sintering carefully selected fine diamond particles at very high temperatures and pressures. Sintering process is strictly controlled in the diamond stable region, which can form extremely tough isotropic tissue. During sintering, the polycrystalline diamond layer is bonded to the tungsten carbide substrate. PCD layer hardness close to the hardness of single-product diamond. This extremely high hardness is also accompanied by great toughness, good wear resistance and thermal conductivity (Table 1). PCD and natural diamond is different, it is an isotropic solid
