In the short span of life, Karl Lermontov, a 19th-century Russian genius poet, wrote 27 narrative poems. Among them, many poems have made outstanding achievements in art. They have a very important position in the history of Russian poetry, especially the narrative poetry. However, the academic circles in China currently seldom pay close attention to the narrative poems of Lermontov, but most of them focus on the analysis of several narrative poems such as “monk” and “devil”. Overall, Lermontov’s narrative poetry has five prominent artistic characteristics: the theme of the legendary; rich structure; changing perspective; outstanding personality; a large number of excellent scenery. It is the organic combination of these five aspects that makes Lermontov’s narrative poem extraordinary and unique.
