磁器口古镇到底兴于何时,现在我们已经难以稽考。但即使是从有史记载的宋真宗成平年间(公元998年至1003年)开始计算,这里亦是千年古镇了。磁器口,原名白崖镇,因其背靠白崖山而得名。这里住着的原著居民多以打鱼为生,为了求得神灵保佑平安,便在这里修建了小寺庙,供奉佛祖。也许是这里的神明灵验吧,小寺庙的香火日盛,在宋代真宗时,善男信女们就在白崖山上建起更大的寺庙——白崖寺。每逢庙会,这里便有摩肩擦踵的热闹。白崖寺下人多了,自然渐渐地出现了乡场,然后是店铺,最后形成了繁荣的街道。 Ciqikou ancient town in the end when, now we have hard to test.
