乘法概念,是数学运算的一个重要概念。它是两个数之间建立相乘关系的依据。乘法概念得出的数学表达式,是这个抽象概念的具体约定形式,它使得用计算即用一种几乎是机械的动作来代替一部分推理,把两数相乘的思维在能看得见的形式上再现出来。乘法概念的形成经历过一个从低级到高级、由狭义到广义的过程。和它的形成过程大体相似,学生学习乘法概念的过程则是由浅入深、循序渐进的。了解乘法概念的发展,正确掌握它的表达式,有利于在各个不同教学阶段讲授这部分知识时,避免把它分割为毫不相干的几小块,而始终正确地把握住乘法概念的内涵,螺旋式地讲清它的意义及其相应的表达式。在小学,乘法概念的学习分为两个阶段,有过几次变化和发展。第一个阶段是在中低段,数的范围局限在非负整数集。第二个阶段是在高年级,数的范围 The concept of multiplication is an important concept of mathematical operations.
