我与美林相识在上世纪80年代,他从安徽重返京都,硬是靠他手中的那支出神入化的笔,靠他笔下的一幅幅活泼可爱、天真稚朴的小动物闯进了北京艺坛。由绘画到刻盘到陶艺到雕塑,由单干到合作到成立韩美林工作室。10多年来,我亲眼目睹了他是怎样一步一步走出困境,走向成功的。我曾与他一起到河南陶瓷一厂,下过烧窑工地,体验过他是在怎样艰苦的环境中从事创造性的艺术劳动。10多年来,我也亲眼目睹了为了艺术,他是怎样舍弃节假日的休息,舍弃天伦之乐,舍弃国外
I met with Merrill Lynch in the 1980s, he returned to Kyoto from Anhui, simply by the hand of his superb pen, by his pen, a lively lovely, innocent naive animals broke into the Beijing Arts altar. From painting to engraving to pottery to sculpture, from solo to co-operation to set up Korea Meilin studio. For more than 10 years, I have witnessed how he step by step out of the woods to success. I once went with him to Henan Ceramics Factory, got off the kiln site, and experienced how hard he was engaged in creative artistic work.
