On August 21 st, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) signed a memorandum ofunderstanding with Chad concerning preferential export buyer’s credit for the Sino-Chadianjoint venture N’Djamena Refinery. And the two parties also entered into a supplementaryagreement under the joint-venture accord and a loan agreement for the joint-venture refinery.CNPC started construction of the Chad refinery in October 2008 under the partnershipagreement signed in 2007 on a 60:40 basis.The refinery is scheduled to be operational by 2011 with annual output capacity of 70000 tons of gasoline and diesel, 20 000 tons of kerosene and 60 000 tons of LPG.
