The Amhem River Basin is a large petroliferous basin in the southeastern part of the Tulane Platform. It is sandstormed with sedimentary basins of the Paleozoic and Mesozoic caprock between the Eastern European, Kazakh, Arabian and Indian plates. The Lower-Middle Jurassic coal-bearing rocks are the major hydrocarbon-generating rock series. The Upper Jurassic thick evaporites are regional cap rocks. The upper cap rocks are divided into clastic petroleum systems on salt rocks and carbonate under salt Rock petroleum system. According to the characteristics of basement structure and sedimentary cover, the interior of the basin can be further divided into the Amu River Depression, Muerjiba Depression, Zong Wenguzi Depression, Central Karakulm Uplift, Bahar slope, Piedmont depression and Liepeijieke salt dome tectonic belt and other large structural units.
