Objective To explore the effect of music relaxation training on anxiety level of contestants in nursing skills competition. Methods Two athletes who were about to participate in the nursing skill competition in the university and voluntarily participated in the study were selected as subjects. One of them was randomly chosen as the experimental group (18 persons) and the other one was used as the control group (22 persons) . The experimental group was given a two-week music relaxation training. The two groups before the experiment, 1 week before the race, 1 day before the race and 1 hour before the competition a total of 4 times athletic performance anxiety scale. Results Before the experiment, there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in the score of CSAI-2 subscales (P> 0.05). The score of cognitive anxiety in the experimental group at 1 week before the experiment was significantly lower than that in the control group (t = 2.163 , P <0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in somatic state anxiety (t = 1.199, P> 0.05) and state confidence (t = 0.460, The score of anxiety (t = 3.207, P <0.01) and somatic state anxiety (t = 2.296, P <0.05) were significantly lower than those of the control group ); The scores of cognitive anxiety (t = 3.755, P <0.01) and somatic anxiety (t = 3.048, P <0.01) in the experimental group at 1 hour before the competition were significantly lower than those in the control group Score difference was not significant (t = 0.912, P> 0.05). Conclusion Musical relaxation training can significantly reduce cognitive anxiety and somatoform anxiety of nursing skill contestants, but it has no obvious effect on self-confidence of athletes.
