服务器的高速以太网卡出现了革新的势头。lntel和3Com公司最新发布的服务器网卡将IP加密算祛及一部分TCP/IP协议的处理运算转到网卡上,使CPU得以解脱出来去处理其它关键服务器任务。 在这一领域,新兴的A1acritech以其新的10/100M高速以太网服务器网卡令人刮目相看。它将核心的TCP/IP协议的处理从CPU转移到网卡的芯片上,这个芯片是一个可编程的特殊集成电路,叫做Internet协议处理器(IPP)。TCP/IP协议不需要CPU处理就可以显著的提高服务器的整体效率,在很多应用程序脚本运行时加速网络吞吐量。
