Arsine (AsH 3) is a colorless, non-irritating gas that can come into contact with air at concentrations of 3 to 10 ppm for hours. Arsenic or metal arsenide reacts with neo-hydrogen in water to release AsH 3. Most cases of poisoning are caused by the production of AsH 3 when treated with acid for arsenic-containing natural metals or ores. Quite a lot of AsH 3 poisoning occurs when melting and purifying metals, but sometimes lethal doses of AsH 3 can also be produced by galvanizing, heat welding, etching, and lead-free board. It has recently been reported that fungi in wastewater can utilize arsenic in water to produce AsH 3. Forestry workers using multiple chemical pesticides are also likely to encounter this gas. Recent interest in fossil fuels such as coal as an energy source has shown an upward trend in AsH 3 poisoning. These fuels contain a considerable amount of arsenic and produce AsH 3 at high temperatures, pressures and vapors. First, the clinical manifestations
