According to the U.S. Air Defense Artillery Quarterly Spring 1984, Norway signed a multi-million dollar contract to improve its Hawker missile program to produce 18 maneuver radars and associated fire distribution systems. Norway has deployed a standard modified Hawker missile company that requires three radars and multiple control centers, which will be replaced with a new maneuver radar and a fire distribution system. The intercepted radar and control system will consist of a new low-altitude surveillance radar and new computers and displays, which were researched by Hughes Aircraft Company and manufactured by Wappen Plant in Kongsberg. Low-altitude surveillance radar is a three-dimensional short-range battlefield system. It automatically detects and tracks modern low-flying targets,
