叶宁是从中国古典舞的整理、研究中走出的舞蹈美学家。她的舞蹈论文,基本上编入了她的《舞论集》(中国戏剧出版社1999年版)。通读她的舞论,除为 《中国大百科全书·音乐舞蹈卷》和《当代中国·舞蹈卷》撰写的有关中国现、当代舞蹈史的文字外,她所论及的范围一是中国古典舞(包括戏曲和武术)和敦煌舞的研究;二是古典戏曲与古典芭蕾的比较研究;三是东西方舞蹈美学思想的比较研究。叶宁的舞论,既具有实践的针对性,又具有理论的深刻性;此外,将舞蹈的研究置于厚重、广阔的文化背景中来进行,也是其舞论的显著特色。
Ye Ning is a dance esthetician who has stepped out of the collation and research of classical Chinese dance. Her dance essay, basically incorporated into her “Dance Theory” (China Drama Press 1999 edition). Throughout her dance theory, except for the writing about contemporary Chinese and contemporary dance history written by China Encyclopedia · Music and Dance Volume and Contemporary Chinese Dance Volume, the scope of her discussion is Chinese classical dance (Including drama and martial arts) and Dunhuang dance; the second is the comparative study of classical opera and classical ballet; the third is the comparative study of eastern and western dance aesthetics. Yeh-ning’s dance theory has both practice-oriented and theoretical profoundness. In addition, the study of dance in a thick, broad cultural context to carry out, but also its distinctive features of the dance theory.
