在全国各族人民学习贯彻党的十五大精神的热潮中,今天我们在这里隆重举行兵团职工大学暨石河子大学职业技术学院挂牌仪式,这是兵团教育发展史上的一件大事,我代表兵团领导表示热烈的祝贺,对各位来宾表示衷心地感谢,对全校师生员工致以亲切的问候！ 随着我国高等教育事业的发展和办学体制改革的不断深入,在全国普通高校联合办学、合并办学形势的推动下,兵团党委于1993年作出了合并兵团北疆四所高校、组建石河子大学的重要决策,得到了农业部和国家教委的批准。1996年9月11日,石河子大学正式挂牌成立。石河子大学成立以后,为了充分利用兵团经济专科学校原有的教育资源,兵团党委从发展兵团的普通高等教育、成人高等教育和职业高等教育的总体布局出发,决定把原兵团经济专科学校改制为兵团职工大学和石河子大学职业技术学院,这就为发展兵团的成人高等教育和职业高等教育事业创造了一个很好的条件。这个学校还有一所800人规模的财经
