Objective: To study the curative effect of closed reduction and percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation on supracondylar humerus fractures in children. Methods: Forty-two children with supracondylar fracture of humerus who were treated from September 2015 to March 2017 were enrolled in this study. Patients in control group were treated with closed reduction and plaster external fixation according to different surgical methods. Children underwent closed reduction and percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation, compared with two groups of children with surgical treatment. Results: The fracture healing time and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P <0.01). The elbow joint function rate in the observation group at 3 months after operation was 100% higher than that in the control group 77.27% of children, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: Closed reduction and percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation for the treatment of supracondylar fracture of humerus in children is effective and can promote the healing of fracture and the recovery of elbow function in children.
