散文诗一向以“空洞,无病呻吟、缺少对社会现实与人文的关怀”等“弊端”而垢病于人,引入“第三空间”这一概念,旨在指出21世纪散文诗前沿文本(《大诗歌》散文诗部分)其叙述和抒情空间已经发生本质性的转变,从物质世界的反映到精神世界的相对封闭性书写,过渡到了现在进行时的“第三空间”书写,散文诗写作已进入了前所未有的开放阶段,通过对真实性、音乐性、先锋性、思想性及审美实质诸元素的论述,辩证地阐明了第三空间与现实主义之间的关系本质以及《大诗歌》散文诗文本作为探索和实践意义上的书写特征,而“第三空间的现实主义”从一定程度上来说是对心理现实主义的本质性揭示及其概念的一次拓展,也是对散文诗审美偏见的一次适时的纠正,乃至对散文诗传统写作的一次善意提醒。
