Overview In the last four years, the field of mineralogy has been remarkably rich and progressing, and there has been a lot of debate between the various communities. To emphasize this point, we can list some of the major achievements made by the U.S. scientific research in many fields. Experimental methods have rapidly become mature and have begun to produce extremely important results. A prominent example is the use of city-source spectroscopy to measure the elastic coefficient of the high-pressure phases of the β and γ of forsterite.
