Background In 1996, the Danish National Health Department recommended retrospective analysis of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) to determine who transfused the blood components found to be positive donors since the anti-HCV screening in 1991. Study Design and Methodology The purpose of this study was to conduct a retrospective analysis and statistics on the incidence of infected subjects from nationally collected results. Blood transfusion records are traced back to 10 years ago, and HCV survivors were tested for survival. Positive recipients for clinical evaluation. Results A total of 150 anti-HCV positive Danish donors supplied blood to 1018 recipients, of whom 288 (29%)
