Thomas Monroe is an education manager at the Cleveland Museum of Art today; for many years he has become a celebrity and organizer of the American aesthetic community. This book reviews to a considerable extent the ideas that govern his life. Although its main emphasis is on the theory of art evolution, it is a result of Monroe’s naturalistic philosophy. Monroe never shaken this opinion, and applied that insight to his area of interest, aesthetics. This book proves that Monroe devoted his life to the idea of “scientific aesthetics,” but also discussed the philosophy of art.
