According to the U.S. Bureau of Energy Information, since the beginning of January this year, the United States has exported 9,000 barrels of crude oil to China each day, accounting for 12.3% of the total U.S. crude oil exports. This is the first time that the United States has exported crude oil to China since 2005. Analysts said the move will have a significant impact on the global oil market. Oil is an important strategic reserve resource. For reasons of energy security and geopolitical considerations, it is not surprising that the United States stopped its export of crude oil to China after 2005. Why, then, did the United States resume its crude oil exports to China despite the geopolitical reluctance of China and the United States?
