互联网在进入90年代后呈一个飞速发展的状态,基于IP协议的各种新应用和新业务不断出现,网络流量急剧增加,由此引发的网络拥塞已经成为制约网络应用和发展的瓶颈。本文首先介绍了基于路由器的拥塞控制策略——主动队列管理AQM及其流行的实现算法RED。接着在NS2软件中构建模拟环境对RED算法进行模拟,获得各种模拟数据,然后在分析数据的基础上对比了RED算法相对于其他的诸如DropTail算法在拥塞控制性能上的优势。
Since the 1990s, the Internet has witnessed a rapid development. Various new applications and services based on the IP protocol continue to emerge. Network traffic has dramatically increased. Network congestion caused by this has become a bottleneck restricting the application and development of the Internet. This paper first introduces the router-based congestion control strategy - Active Queue Management AQM and its popular implementation algorithm RED. Secondly, the simulation environment is built in NS2 software to simulate the RED algorithm to obtain a variety of simulation data. Based on the analysis of the data, the advantages of RED algorithm compared with other algorithms such as DropTail algorithm in congestion control performance are compared.
