前言在靠近赤道的我国南沙水域,建立海洋水文气象观测站,实施水文气象要素的长期观测,对研究该地区的水文气象等环境要素的变化规律及其对我国两广地区、沿海地带环境变化的影响有着十分重要的意义。同时也为联合国教科文组委托的“全球海平面联测计划”提供有关资料。为此国务院和中央军委决定在我国南沙永暑礁上建立海洋水文气象观测站。海洋技术研究所为该站研制配备了ZQA3-1型水文气象自动观测设备。 1988年8月1日该站已经组建完毕,连同观测设备一起交付使用。自启用以来,设备工作正常,通过短波通讯和ARGOS卫星通讯系统已向岸站发回大量宝贵的水文气象资料。填补了我国这一带海区长期环境监测的空白。
