本研究采用了横截面设计,考察了四组英语学习者(高一、大一、大三、研一)7年间二语心理词库广度与深度的关联发展。研究发现:词汇广度持续增长但在6000词频级发生分化;词汇深度发展先快后慢、趋于停滞;词汇广度与深度之间的关联并不稳定,随学习者水平提高出现支持—竞争转化。从动态系统理论看,二语心理词库广度与深度的不稳定关联体现了二语单词主要词义与次要词义竞争有限认知资源的动态过程,且受到频率效应的影响。
In this study, the cross-sectional design was used to examine the relationship between breadth and depth of L2 thesaurus in four groups of English learners (senior, freshman, junior year, graduate one) over the past seven years. The study found that vocabulary breadth continued to grow but diverged at the 6,000 word frequency level; vocabulary depth developed slowly at first, then stagnated; association between breadth and depth of vocabulary was not stable, with the level of learners increasing there was a shift in competition. From the perspective of dynamic system theory, the instability of breadth and depth of L2 thesaurus reflects the dynamic process of limited semantic meaning and secondary lexical meaning of L2 words, and is affected by frequency effects.
