稀有金属是工业、国防、航天、原子能、尖端科学的重要材料。它在自然界中含量很少,分布稀散,难以提取。根据其共同点可分为五类:1.稀有轻金属;2.稀有高熔点金属;3.稀有分散金属;4.稀土金属;5.稀有放射性金属。名称稀有,但有一定的相对性。稀有金属并不全部稀少,有些金属在地壳中的含量比常用金属大得多,如钒、锂、铍的储量就比铅、锌、锡的储量高。1.稀有轻金属包括锂、铍、铯、铷等金属。
