Marshal Chen Yi of the Republic opened the week and particularly liked communicating with their children in poetry. In the spring of 1949, Chen Yi led the army to cross the Yangtze and was ready to attack Shanghai. The eldest son Chen Yusu, who lives in Jinan, Shandong, has just read the second grade of elementary school. He wrote a letter and copied his and his younger brother’s poetry to his father: “Laughing and laughing, happily humming and singing. The mother is in good health, and the father is in front of him to win the victory. The reactionary faction is raged. The family reunite. You. Isn’t it happy to say happy?”
