Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) is a new concept proposed by Tang et al. In 2001 in the field of photophysics. It refers to a class of molecular systems that can undergo intramolecular rotation or vibration that do not emit light or have weak luminescence in solution , And the luminescence after aggregation or in the solid state is significantly enhanced. Since AIE can solve the problem of traditional molecular aggregation quenching and luminescence, this concept has been reported to arouse the interest of scientists all over the world .After ten years of development, Dozens of AIE molecular systems have been reported and widely used in organic light-emitting diodes, sensing and bioimaging, etc. There are many reviews summarizing the achievements of AIE in the past, but no comprehensive review has been reported on the basis of heterocyclic AIE molecular system research progress in this article is a more comprehensive overview of this area and its prospects for the future development prospects.
