After 1900, more and more Japanese immigrants engaged in the field of agricultural production in California, which not only brought vitality to the agricultural development of California on the one hand, but also caused discrimination and exclusion of Japanese immigrants by the local white people on the other hand. In the most adverse social and political environment, Japanese immigrants still maintained their position and influence in California’s agriculture before World War II. Based on the description of the history and characteristics of agricultural production by Japanese immigrants in California, this article attempts to find out the reasons for this.
