在太平洋战争前夕 ,英国为自身的利益 ,在日本要挟下 ,以牺牲中国为代价 ,关闭系中国抗战生命攸关的滇缅公路长达 3个月之久 ,给中国抗战造成严重危机。战后 ,英国政府一再否认关闭滇缅公路给中国抗战造成重大损失。本文认为 ,在中国抗战的关键时刻 ,英国关闭滇缅公路 ,不仅给中国抗战造成重大危机 ,而且对东南亚的迅速沦陷有直接的影响
On the eve of the Pacific War, Britain, for its own interests and under the threat of Japan, closed the Yunnan-Burma Road, which is at the root of China’s war of resistance against Japan, at the expense of China for three months, causing a grave crisis in the war of resistance in China. After the war, the British government has repeatedly denied that the closure of the Burma Road has caused heavy losses to China’s war of resistance. This article argues that at the crucial moment of the war of resistance in China, the closure of the Burma Road by Britain not only caused a serious crisis to China’s war of resistance but also had a direct impact on the rapid fall of Southeast Asia
