In the United States, childhood otosclerosis is rare, with 3,500 stapes surgeries performed by the authors, and 43 (62 ears) under 20 years of age. The literature rarely addresses the effects of stapes surgery on children or teens. Scholars believe that conductive deafness, which is difficult to explain to children, may be a congenital ossicular chain problem, otosclerosis, congenital cholesteatoma, and very few are hearing-impaired conduction in the inner ear. Children with otosclerosis, nearly half have a family history. The effect of pediatric stapes surgery, scholars’ experience is as satisfying as the adult effect. This article 43 cases of children, 16 males and 27 females, the occurrence of conductive deaf between 6 to 17 years old, and the most common age at onset of 12 to 13 years old, may be related to adolescence.
