“Tan Hai” is a masterpiece by Japanese Meiji era writer Yabataichuan, a Chinese-language memoir novels, and “the new record of Yu Chu new blog” of Sanchi, Kikuchi, also known as the two biographies of Japanese-Chinese novels. Tan Hai was obviously influenced by Chinese historical literature in his writing style. His style is similar to that of Zhushi novels in the Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties. Its writing style is simple and concise, which extends the simple style of Wei and Jin ’s novels and directly draws artistic nourishment from such books as Yue Wei Cottage Notes and Zi Bu Bu Yu. Although Tan Bi is a ghost story, although the anecdote is anecdotal, the author places special emphasis on the spirit of the tales and we can also understand the customs and values of Japan since ancient times.
