The media industry is becoming a global industry since the 1980s, and this important structural change has become more prevalent as global capital flows in. In today’s media industry there is an unprecedented opportunity to create value, while many of the media companies that are trying to capitalize on these opportunities are facing big challenges. This article focuses on the barriers to entry into the media industry.
