现有的国内外超声学方面的专著数量不能算少,但不是出版年份过早、内容不够新颖,就是偏重超声学的某些分支而内容不够全面。因此,很久已来,从事超声学教学和科研的人员以及攻读超声学的研究生都渴望有一部内容比较新而全面的超声学参考书,针对读者的需要,近六百页的《超声学》巨著,终于由科学出版社出版了。 此书是由我国超声学专家、中国科学院声学研究所应崇福教授主编的。他亲自写了前三章(引言、弹性介质中的声波、超声的产生和接收)。而该所的其他六位同志结合其各自长期从事研究的超声学分支,分写了后面五章,他们都是有关方面的专家而且富于写作经验。因此,本书的作者阵营强大,无怪本书有下列三个明显的特色。
