本刊第五卷第七期介紹了曹存昌同志‘論齒輪的分析方法’一文,第六卷第九期又介紹了孫慶華顧洪声二同志的‘柱体齒輪螺旋角测量方法’。讀了这兩篇文章后,对柱体齒輪的測繪和滾刀的設計可有概括的了解,对於目前各工廠的設計和繪圖人员有很大的帮助。現在我也把我們在工作中使用的測算齒輪压力角和螺旋角的方法介紹出來。这方法所需用的工具只是普通千分尺,和二对大小不同的圆棒,測量方法簡單,而精度却高,即使用來测量一級精度的齒輪,也能達到需要的精度。这方法还有一个优點,是在测算螺旋齒輪时可以将螺旋角和压力角同時测算出來。缺點是須用試算法,因此數据不能用一个公式一次就計算出來;可是用具簡單,测量敏捷,因此可以抵償这个缺點。因为此法是以圆棒为主要的輔助工具,所以就称它为“圓柱体齒輪螺旋角和压力角的圆棒測算法”。

Now I also introduce the method of calculating gear pressure angle and helix angle we used in our work. This method requires only ordinary micrometers, and two pairs of round rods of different sizes. The measurement method is simple and the accuracy is high. Even the gears used to measure the first-order accuracy can achieve the required accuracy. Another advantage of this method is that the helix angle and the pressure angle can be calculated simultaneously when calculating helical gears. The disadvantage is that a trial algorithm is required, so the data can not be calculated once using a formula; however, it is simple to use and has quick measurements, so it can compensate for this disadvantage. Because this method is a round bar as a major aids, it is called “cylindrical gear helix angle and pressure angle of the round bar calculation.”
