2014年4月30日,渡边淳一因病在家中去世,享年80岁。这位以《失乐园》闻名世界的日本情爱大师,终其一生探索两性情感,以及爱情与婚姻的冲突。他留给世人的,是他对爱情的思考,还有他未能解答的那些爱的谜题……1997年出版的《失乐园》,曾经掀起轩然大波。小说讲述了两个已婚男女因为无爱的婚姻,难以抵挡情感诱惑而陷入婚外恋漩涡之中,最终两人在爱的极致中一起死去。渡边淳一毫不掩饰地将人们在婚外情中的种种困惑都写了出来,他认为“伦理和欲望的冲突永远存在,人不得不面对”。
