The use of SCR for IF inversion was a new technology that emerged in the mid-1960s. In 1966, the world’s first SCR inverter with a power of 750KW and a frequency of 1000H_z was successfully trial-produced in Switzerland. At the same time, West Germany made a series inverter with a power of 840KW and 500H_z. Japan progressed slightly later than Switzerland and West Germany in the development of SCR inverter technology, but its progress was rapid in recent years. Mitsubishi Corporation completed 3000H_z and 300H_z 1000KW SCR inverter devices successively from 1971 to 1974. The United States was later than Western Europe and Japan, and the Soviet Union did not make a 2500H_z, 100KW SCR IF inverter until the early 1970s.
