In the mid-19th century, Western culture poured into China after the Opium War. Christian music in particular has had a tremendous impact on the development of modern and even national music in China. At the end of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century, Christian music entered the southwest minority areas of China with western missionaries, and was spread and accepted among ethnic minorities such as Miao, Yi and Lisu in Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. Christian hymns were distributed in the Miao area of northern Yunnan The spread and development are particularly prominent. Christianity is one of the three major religions in the world and the most religious one. As a foreign culture, Christian hymns were widely spread in China in the late 19th and early 20th century with the invasion of powers, and further developed in coastal towns and even ethnic minority areas. Why did Miao in Yunnan Province not be infiltrated by Han culture for a long time, but quickly accepted a new culture - Christian culture and its hymn at the beginning of the 20th century? To explore these reasons, I think there are three kinds of culture playing a role in Chinese tradition Culture, Western Christian culture and Miao culture in northern Yunnan.
