Commentary thinking is a deeper way of thinking, which can effectively train students in their ability to understand and analyze problems. In reading teaching based on commentary, students are required to think dialectically about reading texts. They not only understand the author’s superficial information conveyed through the text, but also the deep meaning conveyed by the author through reading the text. This article will take the reading teaching of “Festivals around the world” as an example to analyze the guidance that the commentary thinking brings to the reading process of students and to explore the importance of reading teaching
