坐标是建立在数学的兩种对象——圖形和数之間的一种确定的联系,就由于这种联系,一方面使几何的对象化成代数以至分析的对象,为系統运用代数方法以至分析方法(总称解析法以与通常中学几何中所用的那种所謂綜合法相区別)来研究几何問題开辟了道路,于是就出現了以研究方法命名的几何学——例如解析几何学,微分几何学等;另一方面又反过来使代数和分析的对象有了具体的几何解釋,以致使人們对于抽象的代数和分析的內容能作直觉的理解,甚至还可以採用几何的方法来解决
Coordinates are established on the basis of two kinds of objects in mathematics--graphics and numbers. On the one hand, the objects of geometry are transformed into objects of algebra and analysis, and algebraic methods and analysis methods are used for the system. (The general term analytical method distinguishes the so-called synthesis method used in the usual middle school geometry) to open up the way to study geometric problems, and then the geometrical methods named after research methods such as analytic geometry and differential geometry emerge. On the other hand, in turn, the object of algebra and analysis has a specific geometric interpretation, so that people can intuitively understand the abstract algebra and the content of the analysis, and even can use geometric methods to solve it.
