本研究院在柴油机上进行了从烧氢气到烧煤浆的燃用各种各样燃料的试验。本文评述了这些试验所得结果,并从中得出结论:柴油机具有可以有效燃用各种燃料的极强适应能力。但是燃用这些燃料的柴油机的寿命问题,目前尚需探究。尽管柴油机已经发展到了目前燃用精馏分燃料的这种高效率和长寿命的水平,但它本来就设想作为一种应能烧价格便宜的劣质燃油的发动机。而今,我们正面临着石油储藏量日益减少的境况,所以要求最大限度地开辟柴油机的燃料源。本文将评论各种类趔柴油机燃用不同燃料的性能特点。关于这方面的论著甚多,本文不作详尽论述,只是想分析研究燃用各种不同燃料的柴油机的性能变化,以便更好地确定柴油机的燃料范围及其必须进行的改进工作。
The Institute conducted experiments on a diesel engine to burn a wide variety of fuels from burning hydrogen to coal slurry. This paper reviews the results of these tests and concludes that diesel engines have a very high level of adaptability to the efficient combustion of various fuels. However, the life of diesel engines burning these fuels is yet to be explored. Although diesel engines have been developed to the level of efficiency and long life currently used to burn distillate fuel, it has been conceived of as a poor quality, low-cost fuel-fired engine. Nowadays, we are facing a situation of declining oil reserves. Therefore, we are required to maximize the fuel source for diesel engines. This article will comment on the performance characteristics of various types of diesel engines burning different fuels. There is a great deal of work on this topic, and this article will not go into detail, just to analyze and study the performance changes of diesel engines burning different kinds of fuels in order to better determine the diesel fuel range and the improvements that must be made.
