Beginning with Confucius’ compilation of Confucianism founded by Liu Jing, the theory of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements is linked with Confucian classics. Beginning with the Book of Changes, Shangshu and Spring and Autumn Annals in pre-Qin studies, the essay explores the theoretical origins of the thought of the Han, the Five Elements and the Confucian classics, and explores the ancient Chinese ideology under the Yin-Yang-Five Elements thoughts.
