In recent years, the research on the infrared chemical reaction of alcohols and the infrared multi-photon dissociation has drawn more and more attention. Farneth et al. Reported that a gaseous isopropanol reaction was initiated with a TEACO 2 laser to give a propylene product. We use a CW-CO 2 laser to initiate the reaction of the gas phase and the liquid isopropylacetone, mainly acetone, with small amounts of propylene, methane and CO.
