在含有中间基牙的后牙五单位固定连接体固定桥中,当后端基牙受力时,以中间基牙为支点的杠杆作用,可使前基牙的固位体松动甚至脱落,导致修复失败。如果设计成活动连接体固定桥,有可能会消除这种支点作用。由于咬合力存在有近中方向的分力,若将活动连接体放在基牙的近中面上,栓体就会从栓道内向(牙合)方脱出。因此活动连接体只能放在基牙的远中面上。为确定五单位固定桥的活动连接体设计在哪个基牙上更合理,作者采用了光弹应力分析法来测量。
