清朝著名的数学家梅文鼎于1672年完成了著作《方程论》,这本书对后人的影响颇大.《方程论》全书分为六卷,分别为“正名”、“极数”、“致用”、“刊物”、“方程御杂法”、“测量”.其中第二卷“极数”主要详细讨论了多元一次方程组的解法.极数中带分方程是方程中未知数的系数含有分数的情况.《方程论》中讲了带分方程的三种解法,分别是:化整从零、变零为整、除零附整.叠脚方程也称为璎珞方程.叠脚方程组
