所谓概率就是某种现象客观上发生的可能性的一种数量表示,把概率与变量值联系起来,就是随机变量(Random Variable)。随机变量与其对应的概率之间的对应关系叫做概率分布(Probability distribution)。根据概率分布可以度量随机变量,还可以确定随机变量的平均值和标准差。统计学中二项分布是根据离散变量中二值变量,其相应的随机变量——一二项随机变量的概率分布,进行统计分析的。笔者在《以概率论阐述二项分布在医学中的应用》一文中,应用概率的基本理论推导了二项分布均数与标准差公式:
