近几年来,我国的电影理论研究,出现了建国以来少有的繁荣景象——无论其涉及领域之广,还是探讨问题之深,都远远超过了“文化大革命”前的十七年。当然,乍一起步,摆在研究工作者面前的任务是十分艰巨的,既要对林彪、“四人帮”在电影界的流毒进行批评和清除,又要对建国三十年,乃至三十年代以来电影的历史经验进行总结;既要打开眼界,借鉴和分析国外电影艺术研究成果,又要注重解决国内影片创作中出现的新情况、新问题。凡此种种,恰好形成当代中国电影理论研究之特点:鲜明的针对性,理论研究和创作实践的密切结合,以及在一些新的领域中基础理论的开拓。

We must criticize and clear Lin Biao and the “gang of four” in the movie industry as well as criticize and eradicate the narcotics in the movie industry. In the meantime, The historical experience of film should be summarized. It is necessary to open the horizon, learn from and analyze the research results of foreign film art, and pay attention to solving the new situation and new problems appearing in domestic film creation. All this happens to form the characteristics of contemporary Chinese film theory research: the sharp pertinence, the close combination of theoretical research and creative practice, as well as the development of basic theories in some new fields.
