Because this ruling enlarged the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and gave it the power of judicial review not expressly granted by the Constitution, that is, the power to examine whether parliamentary legislation is unconstitutional. Later, the verdict of the Marbury suit became a judicial precedent. All the courts at all levels had the power to aide in examining whether the laws and decrees of the government were unconstitutional, and all laws found unconstitutional by courts were declared null and void. Among them, the Supreme Court of the United States has the final say on the lawsuit involved in the interpretation of the Federal Constitution. The court’s judicial review power gradually gained recognition and became an important political system in the U.S. legislative system.
