采用具有电光(EO)效应的聚合物开发出了在1.3μm光波段使用的、具有良好控制性能的单模通道波导的制作方法.利用这种方法制作了具有不同层间通道波导的层叠式定向耦合器,观察到了模式耦合光在不同层间的波导.进而又在这种层叠式定向耦合器上附设了电极结构.在施加电压时,可对从上层和下层各自通道波导中出射的光进行调制.本文在对这种采用EO聚合物的波导的制作技术及其性能进行说明的同时,还阐述了将其作为开关元件使用的可能性.
The fabrication of single-mode channel waveguides with good control properties for use in the 1.3-μm optical band was developed using polymers with electro-optic (EO) effects.
