The authors used radioimmunoassay to determine urinary β 2-microglobulin (β 2-MG) concentrations in 97 residents aged 35 years and over in the autumn Yue area of Kosaka-cho, Akita Prefecture, due to the environmental pollution caused by cadmium. The effects of different ages, residence years Concentration changes and the relationship between cadmium loading. The results showed that the urinary β_2-MG concentration (expressed as log μg / kg creatinine) of 13 residents over the age of 70 in the contaminated area was 3.59 ± 0.83, while that in the control area was 2.48 ± 0.34, with a significant difference between the two difference. The concentration of urinary β_2-MG in the polluted area is different due to different ages. The average value of the lowest generation of about 30 years old, later increased with age, the highest concentration over the age of 70 generation.
